Intervention-based research in Operations and Supply Chain Management

This doctoral-level course delves into the foundation and applications of intervention-based research in Operations and Supply Chain Management (OSCM).
Students will explore how to design and conduct intervention-based research in real-world organizational settings, aiming to create practically and scientifically relevant theoretical insights.
Through a combination of lectures and workshops, the course aims to be the first step in conducting intervention-based research. Topics covered include:
- Different types of intervention-based research and their philosophical foundations
- The research process in intervention-based research
- Collaborating with organizations as a researcher
- Tools for exploring real world problems and opportunities
- Theorizing and contributing through intervention-based research
- Writing and evaluating intervention-based research
By the end of the course, students will be equipped to prepare and conduct intervention-based research, aiming for high practical and theoretical impact in OSCM.
